With your help, more Australians can know about the power of fair trade, and more families in the world’s poorest regions can benefit from fair trade.

Photographic models: toddlers, girls, boys, women, men
Do you want some free photos of you and your kids? Do you want to have some fun and try on new clothing and accessories? Do you want to be the face of a small Australian charity?
We are an e-commerce based charity, so to give customers an accurate idea of the products we sell, we like to model them on real people. We currently need children aged 6 months to 12 years. Both boys and girls are needed. We also need adults to model for an upcoming T-shirts range. We welcome sizes up to 10 or Medium, as the current sample products lack larger sizes (something we will definitely address in future orders.)
Responsibilities
- To smile for the camera!
Retail Opportunity Seekers
Do you want to push forward the fair trade movement in Australia? Are you passionate about ethical consumption?
Oz Fair Trade currently generates most of its sales online, because it is the only way for Qinnie to manage it alongside her full time job. In a crowded e-commerce space, Oz Fair Trade’s growth is quite slow with limited budget for marketing.
We are looking for passionate people who are not afraid to approach retailers about opportunities to stock Oz Fair Trade products either as wholesalers or as consignments. Experience in sales is not required. Once a retailer is “established”, we will take over the ongoing management of the relationship.
Responsibilities
- To approach retailers about opportunities
- To hand out brochures and business cards
- To smile!
Market/Festival Stall Representatives
Do you have some free time on weekends? Do you want to make real positive impacts on other people’s lives? Do you enjoy conversations about ethical shopping?
Oz Fair Trade relies heavily on word of mouth to grow, and we participate at weekend markets and festivals to raise brand awareness and generate income from sales. We currently only do markets in Canberra. However, we would love to expand to other cities.
We are looking for warm and chatty people who are passionate about ethical shopping and fair trade. Experience in sales is not required. We will provide all the necessary training. All products come with price tag and story cards, so you are not required to be familiar with the products. We simply require a warm heart and a big smile from you!
We also welcome suggestions about your local markets/festivals that you think Oz Fair Trade should participate in.
Responsibilities
- To manage the sales for a market/festival stall
- To hand out business cards and brochures
- To smile!
Product Photographers (Canberra)
Do you want to contribute your experience in product photography to a good cause? Do you want to help push forward the fair trade movement?
We are a web based charity selling fair trade products, so product images are extremely important. Qinnie currently takes photos for all the products, but her skill is limited. Hence, we would love to get help from professional or experienced amateur product photographers who live in Canberra.
You are free to take the products home to take photos. We generally expect a turnaround time of around 3 weeks.
Responsibilities
- To take good product photos
- To use both white background and life settings
- To edit photos as required, and provide photos in both original size and web friendly size
Pro Bono Web Developers
Do you want to help a small web-based charity to grow? Do you have some free time?
Oz Fair Trade relies almost entirely on its online store to generate sales and raise brand awareness. Qinnie built the website which uses the Bigcommerce platform, but her web building skill is very limited.
We are looking for experienced web developers who can contribute their skills from time to time in the customisation of the website. We constantly look for ways to improve the website, and we need help.
Responsibilities
- To assist with the customisation of the website
- To identify problems with the website and suggest improvements
- To provide feedback on website upgrades
Pro Bono Social Media Experts
Do you want to help a small web-based charity to grow? Do you have some free time?
Oz Fair Trade is on Facebook, Twitter, Google Plus and Pinterest. Social media is becoming an increasingly expensive space for small businesses, and we seek to make the best use of social media with a small budget.
We are looking for experienced social media experts who can contribute their skills to help us improve our social media performances, especially in the areas of increasing engagement and raising brand awareness.

Pro Bono Graphic Designers
Do you want to add something meaningful to your CV? Do you want to help a small social enterprise to grow?
Oz Fair Trade is so small that Qinnie does all the graphic design jobs. She often feels out of depth, and she needs your help.
We are looking for experienced graphic designers who can contribute their skills from time to time on the design of business cards, brochures, website, advertisements etc.
Responsibilities
- To assist in the design of marketing materials
- To assist in the design of the website
