Meet the Artisans of SAFFY Inc, Philippines

With three forth of the Filipinos living below the poverty line, SAFFY Inc. supports Filipino artisan producers belonging to the marginalized sectors of the country. It sources products truly indigenous ranging from wood, vines, roots, capiz shells, herbs and anything that can be turned into work of art or consumed in order to create sustainable livelihood for their families and community.

Through SAFFY, Inc. these producers are able to gain access to the local and international market where their products are sold and displayed in hotels, homes, and corporations. SAFFY provides capacity building work with training on entrepreneurship, marketing, basic accounting, health and nutrition, marketing and sustainable agriculture. It imparts the principles of Fair Trade to producers. Fair Trade is a concept that advocates fair trade practices in the arena of business such as fair wages, non-discrimination base on gender, fair prices, transparency with dealings with producers and buyers, ensuring good working conditions for workers by showing respect for the environment.

SAFFY Inc is a current member of the World Fair Trade Organisation. 

The goal of SAFFY, Inc is to allow producers to eventually become self-reliant through their own cooperatives and organizations so that they can be independent and a big business enterprise.
