Size: 45 x 165 cm
These colourful and featherlight scarves are made of cotton handwoven by Tai Dam women in Luang Namtha province. Their colour and size make them a perfect statement piece for any outfit. They can roll up to a very portable size and extremely light weight; this makes them perfect for "just in case" in your handbag.
Handspun, handwoven cotton fabric has an added value of being cooler, softer and more absorbent. It breathes better than machine made cotton fabric. It has a textural beauty and visible character which is not present in machine made fabric.

WHO YOU ARE SUPPORTING
Artisan Group: Traditional Arts and Ethnology Centre
Ethnic minority communities living in rural areas make up the poorest sector of the Lao population. Recognising the unique obligations of a museum working with these communities, the Traditional Arts & Ethnology Centre (TAEC) runs an innovative livelihoods development program based on traditional handicraft skills. The overwhelming majority of handicraft producers in the program are ethnic minority women, who studies have shown spend their income on their family’s food, health and education needs. TAEC is certified by Fair Trade Laos.
