Material: acrylic yarn
These cute finger puppets and animals are knitted with three sticks by indigenous Aymara mothers of the city of El Alto, who migrated from rural communities to the city looking for better quality of life for themselves and their families. However, they found the city an imposing and very different place than they imagined, and where decent work opportunities were few. Life was difficult until they found work in fair trade which gave them a chance to improve their income and provide their children a good education.
