During the Vietnam War, Laos was heavily bombed by the United States, and millions of undetonated bombs still injure or kill locals. Many farm lands are affected by these bombs. Likewise, Cambodia is also affected by bombs and landmines resulted from decades of war. By turning these bombs and landmines into utensils and jewellery, local people can not only earn a sustainable income, but also use the proceeds to train people to clear the bomb affected farm lands. These products are not only fair trade but also help two of the world’s poorest countries to clear bomb affected farm lands, so that less people will be injured or killed, and more land will be available for farming.
