A trip to Southeast Asia in late 2012 instilled passion in Qinnie Wang, founder of Oz Fair Trade, to help the world's poorest people by providing a platform for their beautiful handicrafts.

Since then, Oz Fair Trade has been endorsed by ACNC as an Australian charity, accredited by FTA as a Fair Trader of Australia, supported over 20 supplier groups in the world's poorest countries, loved by hundreds of customers, and gained much media attention.

Our Vision

We believe in fair trade as a sustainable solution to global poverty. We know that fair trade currently accounts for 1% of global trade and it is perceived by many as boring, controversial and overpriced. So we want to build a not-for-profit business that makes fair trade fun, affordable and desirable. As a business, our first priority is to serve our customers and to give you what you want i.e. high quality, unique and ethical products, and generous shipping and returns policy.

We want to create a friendly and secure online marketplace where you will enjoy visiting time and time again for ethical and fair trade shopping. We want to join forces with you to help push forward the fair trade movement in Australia, so that more people will earn a fair wage and work in a safe environment; their children will go to schools and the families can break the poverty cycle.

Our model is simple.

We buy from Producer A and sell to you. Your purchase helps us to earn some profit so that we can buy from not only Producer A again but also from Producer B, and so on. The more sales we make, the more fair trade producers we can support, and the better off these producers and their families become. With a sustainable income, they can budget for household expenditure, provide their children education, expand their handicraft businesses and live dignified lives.

We not only buy their products but also keep their labels and tell their stories - so that they become known in the marketplace and they can grow into successful social enterprises.
